My path into counselling has been shaped by many years of working alongside people in a range of supportive settings. Before becoming a counsellor, I worked with women and men through body-based therapies, supported adults and their families within hospice care, worked with young people and their families, and facilitated women’s groups.
Since beginning my counselling training, I have continued to develop my professional knowledge, deepening my understanding of trauma and the nervous system through both body-based practices and talking therapies. These experiences have provided a broad and compassionate understanding of the different ways people experience distress, change and healing.
I bring this experience into my counselling work with warmth, curiosity and compassion. I understand that every person’s story is unique. I offer a space where you can be yourself, to explore what has brought you to therapy and make sense of your experiences without judgement.
I do not believe that therapy is about being told what to do. Instead, I work collaboratively with you, supporting you to develop a deeper understanding of yourself, recognise your strengths and discover your own capacity for change.
